Club History

What began as a local walking group has grown into a friendly walking football club, bringing people of different ages and backgrounds together to stay active, make friends and feel part of their community.

Beginnings

The club began in 2020 with a group of friends in Brixham who regularly walked together. As walking football grew in popularity, it piqued their interest, so they booked the community college sports hall for a Friday evening trial session. It attracted a great turnout, including people who had never played football before but were keen to stay active and meet new friends.

Growing together

As more players joined, fortnightly Friday evening sessions became a regular social fixture, attracting players aged up to 80. Within a year, the club had become associated with Brixham Town Football Club and formed a team to compete in the Devon Walking Football League, while keeping fun and friendship at the focus of the club.

Today in Brixham

Today, our indoor social sessions continue to thrive, regularly welcoming 15–20 players, with fun and friendship remaining at the heart of the club. Our league team has also gone from strength to strength, and we’re looking forward to making our mark in the Over 60s National Division in 2026/27.
